Central Office Voice Mail and Enhanced Services The FAR Voice

Specialized for Central Office & Service Bureau Use

Voice processing for Central Offices and Service Bureaus is no longer just voice mail. You need a platform that can do much more.

Much more than Voice Mail top of page

FAR Voice Systems can be supplied with a wide variety of pre-programmed applications that are tailored to the specific needs of the Central Office or Service Provider. Call-Access, the voice mail application, illustrates the ways in which the FAR Systems applications are specialized for Central Office and Service Provider use.

New Customers top of page

The sale of voice mail to small businesses is a natural for Central Offices. However, much of that potential business is untapped because the voice mail offered by most service providers does not include some of the most important conveniences of customer-premises (CP) voice mail.

Multiple Personalities top of page

Call-Access can act like multiple, logically separate voice mail systems within the same platform. Thus, your system provides:

More than 1000 partitions are supported with up to 100,000 mailboxes. Each chassis can provide up to 120 phone ports. Multiple chassis can be networked into a single large voice mail system.

Other Enhanced Services top of page

Other enhanced services can be created and installed. All of the applications can co-exist and be linked to each other in arbitrarily large or complex trees. Even services such as calling cards, debit cards, and international call-back can be installed on the same platform and easily integrated with all other services.

An Audio Bulletin Board application is part of the Central Office package. This application supports up to 1000 user maintained audio bulletin boards. The bulletin boards may each contain either one or two menu layers with each layer containing up to nine separate messages. The number of messages and length of each authorized message is easily controlled by the system administrator. All messages are easily maintained remotely from any touch tone telephone through the use of an unprompted, passcode protected entry to the maintenance area.

Entirely New Sources of Revenue top of page

The FAR Voice also supports direct links to multiple mainframe computers simultaneously, thus allowing applications like bank-by-phone and order status inquiry to be offered by service providers. In the past, this type of application could only be done by CP equipment. Now, The FAR Voice opens these, and other markets to the service provider seeking new sources of revenue.
