Savings on Calling Card Services top of page

Most calling cards cost considerably more to use than ordinary outbound long distance. Even if the per minute rate looks appealing, the majority of calling card providers (including the big three) have a per-call service fee added to the basic rate. Consequently, depending on the average length of calls, the true rate can range from 40¢ to 80¢ per minute.

A corporate calling card system provides a uniform rate for all calls, at a considerable savings. If a company spends even $1000 per month on calling card services, a private calling card system can often provide a full payback within a year.

Control Toll-Free Expenses top of page

Many companies provide, or would like to provide, toll-free access for their large customers but know that the number will be used for other purposes, and by persons other than those for whom it is intended. With a private calling card system, you can issue calling cards (customers call a toll-free number and enter a PIN number) that are restricted to a single number - yours. A private calling card system allows you to provide toll-free service to your important customers, but you remain in control of who uses it, and hence the costs. You even know precisely how much each customer makes use of the service. You can also issue temporary authorizations (PIN numbers) to potential clients or small customers without losing control.

New Services top of page

A private calling card platform provides unique capabilities for those businesses that sell support services. Normally, paid support services are provided using a toll-free number, but if the support is sold on a pay-for-time basis, controlling the time used by a client is tedious at best. Such clients can be issued a debit card (that is, a PIN number with a specified amount of time allocated to it), and the calling card system automatically takes care of controlling the service time provided. When the paid time expires, the client no longer has access to the service until the debit card is re-charged.

International Call-Back top of page

For companies with operations overseas, the same system supports international call-back service, thus providing major savings on calls from foreign countries. The savings are large because the rate for a call from the U.S. to another country is always less than the same call originated overseas. Savings vary, but can range from about 40% to as high as 800%.

Other Applications top of page

Since the FAR Voice platform supports any number of IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and fax applications simultaneously, your calling card platform can also do Automated Order Entry, Fax-Back, Consolidated Number Service (find-me), voice mail, and other voice/fax/data applications as your requirements grow.
